Neustift in Austria is a large resort with 28 lifts (6 chair lifts, 18 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 2250 metres (7382 feet) of vertical descent. Neustift has 37 pistes. Neustift is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 45 kilometers (28 miles) of cross country ski trails at Neustift. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park. A small proportion of the pistes at Neustift are covered by snowmaking. The closest airport is at Innsbruck and the transfer time is only 0.5 hours. Lovely Austrian village with a bustling centre with restaurants and bars but certainly not mad apres-ski which suits us as a family. Stubai Glacier is 20..ish mins away with the best snow. The Umbrella bar at the base station is a cracking apres-ski venue. Beginners have access to all easy blues connected by magic carpets, a small button lift and small chair lift. With extra confidence it is an easy gondola or chair lift to even more lovely wide blues and reds.
Love the short transfer from Innsbruck.
