Winter made an early-season entrance in Australia overnight, with a polar blast from the Antarctic dumping up to 15cm of fresh snow on the slopes as temperatures tumbled to around -2.C.

Today, alongside 15 cm of fresh snow, the SkiWelt once again offers a variety of exciting events. Starting at 11:00 am, guests can enjoy a free “witches’ potion” at the Simonalm in Söll, while the ski cinema in the historic farmhouse “Hexerei” on the Keat slope remains open until 3:00 pm. From 11:30 am, the “T.B.G. by Da Vinci Family” hosts a lively coffee party featuring the biggest hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, before the afternoon transitions into vibrant après-ski moments from 1:00 pm at the Tenner Stadl in Hopfgarten. Stayed at the Land Alpin which continues to serve up excellent food and is conveniently located. With the relatively mild weather over Christmas the rooms were far too hot though and even with the windows open and the radiator off it was too hot in the room at night. Snow not brilliant this year and we could not ski down to the gondola but with buses every 15 minutes, from outside the hotel, (except over lunch time) you never need to wait long for a bus. The gondola takes you up high and the snow up there was good up to about 2pm when it became slushy each day.
