Charlotte Pass is the highest resort in Australia and is linked from Perisher by a 8 km snowcat ride. Charlotte Pass has five lifts and only 200metre of vertical rise but people visit the resort as much for its charm and isolation as the skiing. The main hotel is the historic and turreted Kosciusko Chalet, a great spot for a romantic weekend. Really, Charlotte Pass offers a getaway from the busy resort of Perisher, even if it is just for one night. The solitude is something to be experienced.

I've been skiing at Charlottes for 45 years. It is a fantastic place. It's rather limited for downhill but perfect for cross country skiing, alpine touring and snow shoeing. No other resort has such great access to the main range.
It is perfect for kids because it is very difficult to lose them, everything slopes to the village and kids are easy to spot from the village.
No cars. No crowds. No noise. Wonderful!
