Mt Lemmon Ski Valley in the United States (Arizona State) is a very small ski resort with just three ski lifts (1 chair lift, 2 surface lifts) with only 276 metres (907 feet) of vertical descent. Mt Lemmon Ski Valley has 80 acres of terrain over 18 trails. Mt Lemmon Ski Valley is evenly suited for both advanced and intermediate skiers and snowboarders but with some terrain for beginners. The ski area is at the mercy of Pima County when it comes to the road being open after snowfalls and the county is notorious for being slow to plow and open it. Out of the resort's hands. When there is snow and the road is open, this place is great. The views from the summit, looking down on Tucson 7,000 feet below, are amazing! It's only 70 miles from Mexico so a lot of the time it's 50 degrees and sunny on the mountain, even in the dead of winter. No snowmaking, as there's no good source of water. But there is grooming and the slopes ski well without needing too much snow (an 18 inch or greater base here makes for good skiing).
