Nendaz is known as Haute Nendaz and can be found by searching that name.
It is a quiet, unassuming resort that is located within the 4 valleys mega resort in Switzerland. This large connected ski area includes the uber-posh resort of Verbier, famed for having some of the best, and most extensive, off-piste in Europe. There are over 400km of piste to be explored and these are divided almost equally over the ability scale. One draw back is that skiing out from Nendaz can be a pain as you seem to spend a lot of time on lifts before reaching one of the larger ski centres. This is easily over come if you have transport and can make the short drive to one of the other resorts or take the bus to Siviez. Off the slopes the resort of Nendaz is quite big, but has largely been ignored by the main ski holiday companies. There are enough restaurants and bars and the town is lively without being rowdy. Overall, this is one of the cheapest resorts in the 4 valley complex, but you may have to bus it to get easy access to the slopes.

Nendaz was absolutely outstanding. We had a family holiday for me and my wife and 2 children (10+4 years old) in December 2010.
The skiing and the resort people were very friendly and welcoming with everything geared for the skiing and snow sports.
The apartment we were in was a private agreement with people who let us have their family apartment, which was absolutely outstanding, everything you would have dreamed about.
There was a very good travel system available in Nendaz and excellent places to eat out, bearing in mind when you have been on the slopes all day you don't feel like going far.
Supermarkets and the local butchers were excellent and the people on the town were very welcoming, couteous and helpful.
We hired the skis in the town and the shop staff and owner (Intersport) we hired from were so helpful and supportive we could have not wished for a nicer holiday. Thanks to everyone at the shop.
The ski lifts were so easy to use and the views were just absolutlety outstanding with loads of snow and skiing.
I love photography and took some absoluteley outstanding photos which are to die for.
The slopes were in excellent condition and I have to say we paid for private tuition which was absolutely fantastic. The instructor (Jaques) was a gem worth every Swiss franc. He had the patience of a saint and nothing was too much trouble. Within 20 mins he had my family skiing and completing some excellent moves, thanks again.
My family had never skied before but this chap soon got them up and going which was excellent to observe, thanks again for your patience.
Would recommend the 4 valleys to any person requiring some quality skiing and hopefully this will be repeated next year. Can't wait.
We spent a lot of the time up at Siviez which is superb with a restaurant and also a free shuttle bus from outside the ski lift at Nendaz which again was brilliant.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and will return again this year for hopefully another great holiday and really looking forward to it. Can not wait.
