Having owned my own chalet business in Les Deux Alpes for the past 5 years, my only criticism has been the morning queues on busy weeks to get up the mountain and the lack of a good quality, well maintained easy runs back to the resort. Thankfully the resort in under new ownership and this company is addressing these problems for the 2012 season. Firstly they are replacing the ancient Diable (red eggs) with a high speed 6 person chairlift which will double the current uplift capacity to over 2000 people an hour. In addition Les Deux Alpes are creating a brand new blue run from the top of this gondola, close to La Cretes area which will head out in the direction of the Venosc valley before heading back to the lower slopes in front of the resort. Fingers crossed this will eliminate the need for the beginner and intermediate skier to queue up to down load at the end of the day. Finally new snow cannons are being built on the Diable black run which also feeds into the lower slopes. Hats off to the Compagnie des Alpes. Chapeau.
